September Art Box 2020: Kava & Clay

Learn how to make a pinch pot with pottery expert Dana.

It's time to get our hands dirty! We're diving into clay and kava in this month's box. First, we'll learn about, make and sip some of the relaxing kava root drink (optional!). Then we'll all learn how to roll, attach, smooth and decorate a beautiful clay creation. This month we're getting tactile: we'll get out of our heads and into our bodies. As we work with elements from the earth, we'll close with a grounding meditation.

Art by Your Guide, Dana Matthews

Dana Matthews is a ceramicist with 15 years of experience studying under master artists across the mid-west and Southeastern United States.  She’s a hand-building expert with highly regarded achievement in architectural as well as free form design, in addition to being accomplished in wheel thrown works of art.  Dana has taught ceramics in both the classroom and individual/small group environments and currently runs her own business from her pottery studio in Milton, Georgia.

Your Guide, Alison Canavan

Her online workshops have helped thousands of people all around the world cope with the increased waves of anxiety and fear during quarantine. Her workshops entitled “Keeping Energy and Immunity High” and “Envision your Life” have provided tools and support leading to incredible transformation in the collective. She began studying nutrition in 2009 and graduated with distinction in Nutrition and Health Coaching from the Irish Institute of Nutrition and Health (IINH) in 2015. She also holds an Advanced Diploma in Diet and Nutrition therapeutics and has a Raw Foods Mastery level 3 where she studied at The Life Change Health Institute. Alison continues to contribute to Podcasts, Newspapers, Magazines and TV and Radio shows around the world. She is also a trained DreamBuilder coach from The Life Mastery Institute in The United States.
